I didn’t think I’d get an opportunity to blog at all while on this tour, but thanks to the wonders of free wifi at local cafes on almost every corner, I’m taking the small window of opportunity while The Peep Tempel go pick up their tour van and backline from the hire store in Berlin. First German show tonight at Knochenbox #squeeeeeeeee!
We’ve actually had a fairly big break since the first show in Lyon, France last week so the band and all involved are pretty keen to get playing/shooting again.
The Lyon show was stellar. An amazingly supportive crowd which included a fan who came to the show after hearing The Peep Tempel on Spotify, finding them on Facebook and getting very excited that they were coming to her town.
I’ve been to France a few times but never to Lyon and it’s gorgeous. But, this stay was so much more special because we had amazing, lovely, generous hosts in the Vanni family and Christelle (friends of The Peep Tempel) who let us sleep in their homes, made us homemade, ten-course, traditional french meals and nursed the crew through jet-lag induced illnesses.
On top of that, we were lucky to stumble across an impeccable second-hand vinyl store where all records were original pressings or very early copies. The owner Roland then invited us into his ‘vault’ – an underground storage cellar with over 40,000, uncatalogued early and original pressings of your favourite and classic albums. I picked myself up some original pressings of Joni Mitchell, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones and David Bowie. Happy Days.
Anyhow, here is my (many) favourite photos from the France leg of this unforgettable tour so far…..
